My sister looks very sick today. Her gums are bleeding, she’s spitting blood, her lips are dry and chapped, and her entire body is covered with rashes.
She’s also very touchy. That’s understandable, given that she’s hooked up on dextrose, she can’t taste any morsel she eats (and a morsel is all she eats at a time), she gets pricked by a needle every four hours for a platelet count, she has to pee in a measuring container, she hasn’t moved her bowels in a week, she feels like vomiting everytime she drinks anything, and to top it all off, she has her menstruation.
In two weeks’ time, she has to go to school to line up with her schoolmates for enrollment.
And today, what irks her most is the thought that the boy she likes will see her looking less than perfect.
Don’t worry about it. Just do what you think is right to help her, and leave the rest to God.
