Yup! I’ve moved!
I’ve finally gotten my own domain name for this blog. RandomDetox.com, yay!
I decided to keep the name Random Detoxification because I’ve used it so much, seems a shame to lose all that name recognition right?? (Haha, dream on, Flisha!)
I foresee all my blog statistics going berserk in the next few days, haha. They’ll probably all vanish into thin air and I’ll have to start building from scratch. But better now than later, right?
So anyway, help me out here guys. If you previously linked to my blogspot address, kindly update your blog rolls!
Thank you!

We used blogger and wordpress.com before I got my own domain too. All my stats started over at ZERO when I made the switch. But having your own domain and the control is so totally worth it!

Hmmm… I’ll have to consider this myself… eventually. :p

Keep your Blogspot blog and put a “we have moved post” on it. Turn comments off and provide a link to the new blog.
I moved my travel blogspot and brought over all my posts to wordpress. They did not transfer well and were not searchable, so I decided to leave them on the blospot and keep them on the WordPress blog. Eventually they will be indexed on the new blog.
Register your blog with Alexa, Yahoo and G00gle if you use it. Claim your new blog at Technorati, Bloglog, Bumpzee and anywhere else you have it.
Join some blogrolls, link from you other blogs to the new one and it will work out.

Well, your old blogspot address will still redirect to your domain name right?
It’s good to know you retained your blog name. You will just need to update all the services where you enlisted your blog

Saint Lover, really? How long did it take for you to build up your stats back to where they were before?
Tony, especially if you’re blogging for money.
I’m starting to see requirements like you have to be self-hosted and such.
Cybercelt, my Blogger blog now automatically redirects to this site
Thanks for the suggestions, I’m definitely doing the search enging submitting now. Any ideas how often to submit to search engines?
Spife, yup it’s redirecting. Really tiresome updating all my services. Some I’ve forgotten already. But I gots ta do what I gots ta do! Hehe
Nishadha, thanks!

I too got my own domain a few days back. I don’t prefer a blog with domain on blogger. Because WordPress got much more features and control. I would suggest you to move to wordpress with a good web hosting.

Hi Guutu, I might get my own hosting when I’ve saved some cash. For now I’ll have to content myself with Blogger.

Blogger will direct for awhile and then it will put up this notice “you are being redirected to a site that is not hosted on Blogger. We cannot vouch for the quality of the site…” click yes or no to be redirected. This scare most people. That is when I undirected my site, but a notice on it, locked the comments.
All the search engines have a page to submit your blog. Usually, you must claim it by putting a piece of code in the template (Yahoo!, G00gle, Alexa, Technorati). You just have to do what they requerst and follow up to see if it was indexed. I do not use G00gle for nothing so that is one less peta for me.
Good luck. If you have specific questions, drop by my marketing or advertising blog and drop a question.

Congrats. I had good advice from a friend when I started and at his insistence I got my own hosting instead of going with Blogger or anyone else. BTW added you on Technorati.
