Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center in Southern California prepared a team of 46 doctors, nurses and surgical assistants for the birth of septuplets, but got octuplets (6 boys and 2 girls) instead. It is the second time in U.S. history that anyone has ever given birth to octuplets.
The delivery time was quite quick, all of five minutes, from 10:43 to 10:48 in the morning, via c-section. The children were nine weeks premature, but all are doing well.
