Yesterday, I blogged about Miss World finalist Mariana Bridi da Costa losing her hands and feet, in addition to part of her stomach and both kidneys, after catching septicemia. She succumbed to the disease Saturday, 3am. Here are Mariana Bridi da Costa pictures.
Septicemia is triggered by the bacteria known as pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is the tenth leading cause of death in the USA, but little is known about the illness. Septicemia leads to sepsis, necrosis and eventually organ failure.
