Drat. I’d have to settle for that. I hate it when I don’t win (I’m very absolutely competitive. Just ask my Magic Buddies). In a race that began with mild jesting and ending up in all-out battle for 1st place, our group jockeyed for supremacy in the annual post-graduate intern’s quiz bowl. (Blurb: for all you guys planning to go to law school, check out this LSAT prep site)
It’s a quiz bowl. For interns. Jeez. How lame can you get?
It was an activity designed by the hospital admin to test our knowledge retention. It was also an activity that I didn’t think I’d get too keyed up about. Because it’s lame. But I did (Guess that competitive edge won out after all). That and the lure of cash prizes (nothing gets my nose twitching like the chance to earn some cold, hard cash).
So. We were beaten to the cup by just one question. One question that *I* knew the answer but didn’t voice it for fear of being not right when I perfectly knew I read it somewhere. So 2nd best it is. What did we get? 500 bucks apiece. Not much. But not bad for an hour and a half’s worth of sitting and answering questions. ;P
