Balloon Boy Hoax

Posted on 16 October 2009 by Flisha

Earlier today, I saw the news about a hot air balloon and a poor boy stuck in it, both floating on air, no adult on board. The Heene family was saying they accidentally let go of the tether of the balloon. Then the hot air balloon later landed, and the boy was not in it, and it was surmised that he must have fallen.

I thought, how tragic. And how foolish of the family to let that boy in the hot air balloon even while tethered, especially since it was just a homemade project. Nobody should have been inside it, who knows what could happen.

They released the video of how exactly the “accident” happened.

Well. It does look as though they didn’t mean for the hot air balloon to be let go so soon. But it also looks as though they quite know their son isn’t in there. Because I don’t hear anyone calling for Falcon! (Falcon Heene is the balloon boy.)

Later they were interviewed on Larry King (it wasn’t Larry King though). Watch this video from CNN.

Falcon seems genuinely confused. When his parents ask him, “Did you hear us calling your name at any time?”, he says “Mm.” Then they ask, “You did? Why didn’t you come out?” and he haltingly replies, “You guys said… We did this for the show.”

After that his dad and mom kind of humiliate him on TV by saying he cowers and often does stuff like this. I don’t know if he’s old enough to get that, but I think he must feel awfully confused. He is so gonna get traumatized from this. Poor balloon boy.

What terrible parents. They can’t even look straight into the camera anymore. It’s obvious they’re lying through their teeth.

They gave another interview on The Today Show. Balloon boy throws up. And the dad doesn’t seem to care. God, that father is so shady!

I really feel sorry for the kids. They’ll grow up not knowing what’s right or wrong. And I’m afraid they’re gonna do the same thing to their own children. Perpetuate the cycle of stupidity, why don’t you…
