I recorded a certain beep from a medical equipment that I now use as a ringtone. It’s amusing, even if anything med-related is a source of stress for me these days.
Speaking of which…
Random Detox Tip 101: Curl up in bed with your favorite book and a steaming hot mug of chocolate while listening to the rhythmic pitter-patter of rain on the roof and to the croon of your fave melody.
Sometimes I just feel winded. Like the weight of the entire world is pressing down on my shoulders so much so that the pressure is silently, yet agonizingly transferred to my temples. As if I feel centuries older. Ordinary mortals simply are *not* meant to work non-stop. Especially if a work “week” is 124 hours long (correct me if I’m wrong, but a typical, real, 8-hour a day week is only at around 40 hours, 60 max with overtime). Think of doing this week after week and month after month. Without pay. I repeat, without pay. Except for lunch and dinner. And if you miss the meals that are allotted (trust me, you almost always will), then you’ll have to pay for your own food. That is, if you have the time to even grab a bite. Oftentimes, it’s enough to swallow your own saliva and hope that it would quell your rebellious tummy.
*sigh*
It’s enough to drive a sane person insane.
So once in a while, I feel that I have the right to detoxify. To just drop out of the ever busy day and just stay home. Rest, recharge. And damn the consequences.
