So. American Idol season 9 is fully underway. Tomorrow will be the top 7′s and Idol Gives Back night (I wonder what their outdoor décor would be?). And guess what? The hero of people-who-wouldn’t-dare-sing-unless-a-wee-bit-drunk, is still alive and in the race-

"From Zero to Hero in two weeks!" - Simon

Tim Urban! I know, I know, a lot of you guys out there are shaking your heads right now and saying that Turban doesn’t deserve to be there. That Katie Stevens deserved to stay. Not some dude who couldn’t carry a high note and who’s content to just stand there and look cute. But hey, that’s what makes Turban a hero. No, not his being cute (I burst out in guffaws after Andrew Garcia described Tim’s flick of the hair and smile combo as something that would make him say “I love you”), but the fact that he sings like the average joe, but still managed to survive to the top 7. Now that’s what you call tenacity. As Dee says, he’s the epitome of the average-is-the-new-exceptional motto. I really do hope he gets to the top 6 at least.

Another one of my faves is Siobhan Magnus.

On Top 10 week

Now there’s a girl who can sing. I love it when she belts out those high notes. It’s just unfortunate that the judges think it’s screechy when she does. I don’t agree, however. I think it’s solid and powerful most of the time. And to top it off, she’s really cute! I specially love it when she wears those big, bug-eyed glasses and has her hair hair all messy, and spikey at the same time. Pretty. hehe.

Another contestant I’m hoping would make it to the top 3 is Casey James (another contestant Andrew Garcia goes all dewy eyed).

His laid back style has Kara humming

I like his cool demeanor and his laid-back, rocker style. I think he has the makings of a great artist. So there’s my top 3. How about you guys? Care to share who’re you betting to be on the top 3 list?
