I tend to observe accessories on the TV shows I watch. Hence, the love of girly shows like Pretty Little Liars, The Secret Circle, Glee and most recently, Jane by Design.

(I also love Revenge, Ringer and Pan Am but the stars don’t wear as much bling.)

In Pretty Little Liars, each girl has her own fashion sense so I really enjoy the differences. Aria loves colorful outfits, and she loves headbands and enormous earrings, especially those with feathers. Emily likes off-shoulder t-shirts and hoop earrings. Hanna has a beautiful face and plays up her features with heavy makeup and tends to go for less dramatic accessories. And Spencer is conservative and wears the least number of accessories. She likes scarves, I guess.

In The Secret Circle, the only one I enjoy looking at is Cassie. She wears a lot of dresses, short skirts, black tights, boots, jackets and heavy necklaces. I like Diana too, she’s really pretty, sometimes I think prettier than Cassie, except her style is often mature and just not pretty enough for my taste. Then there’s Faye but her fashion is more gothic so I don’t pay much attention.

In Glee, you may be surprised, but I like Mercedes’ fashion sense most of all. Rachel is always wearing sexy-nerdy clothes which is cute but predictable. Santana and Brittany are always wearing their cheerleader outfits, which is boring. Quinn, when she isn’t gothic, is often working the clean, all-American girl outfit. Blah. Tina, I don’t see much of. So that leaves Mercedes who I think is the only who likes to wear accessories and play up her looks. She’s loud and her outfits show it! Not that they work on her all the time, but when the camera’s on her, you can’t help but pay attention!

Which brings us to Jane by Design. Funny, this was supposed to be just a really quick post on India’s earrings. And it’s led me to say a lot more just on the intro! I’ve spent, on this post now, more than the time it would take to finish my show. Haha.

So, anyway, I like Jane by Design because it reminds me of Ugly Betty. Though it’s not as good or as clever but still it fills the void. The thing is, even though this is a fashion-related TV show, I can’t say I am fond of the lead actress’ outfits. They don’t seem to be very fun or fashionable. They just look… dated. Maybe I just miss Betty. :P

However, today, I saw some really fun earrings on India! India is this bitchy rival of Jane’s boss Gray, and India is always tailing Jane to know what Gray is up to, and India is always scheming to steal Gray’s job. Another thing – India always looks fab. And on episode 5, she’s wearing these HUMONGOUS pearl/hoop earrings shaped like grapes. I can’t see her earlobes but damn, I wonder how badly they’re stretch because her earrings look heavy! But fab. Hahaha. :)
