I know it’s a wee bit late but I finally got the time to watch Iron Man 2. Suffice to say, it exceeded my expectations and more (just like apidexin)!

Great storyline that neatly ties up the events of the first installment, spectacular effects and mind-blowing-action-packed scenes with witty dialogue easily rocketed this film to my top 10 blockbuster list of 2010.

I particularly liked the way they altered some scenes while remaining faithful to the comic book. The physics behind the different scenes were also well thought out. Take for example that scene where Iron Man plucked Pepper from that suit that was about to explode. The scene showed Stark pausing for a fraction to pick her up rather than just snatching her away as he flew- that would have been as disastrous as a truck ramming into Pepper.

My only gripe is that I was forced to watch it in one of two movie theaters available in the city- one that’s reported to be clean with good service (read: no cuts) but with barely audible sound and unsavory clientele; the other with really great Dolby surround sound system but with terrible terrible terrible service (lots of cut scenes) that you end up feeling cheated out of your money’s worth.

I took the lesser evil and watched the movie in the one with the great audio (one of the reasons why I delayed watching it was because I dreaded going back to that theater after it spoiled my Avatar experience).

This being the lenten season, I’ve seen a lot of posters, avatars, and greeting cards depicting a picture of homemade loaf with a cup of wine. This may sound odd, but I kinda got to wondering how bread with wine tastes like? I mean, we’ve all heard of the cliche food pairs like strawberries and cream, bread and butter, doughnuts and coffee. I’ve tried most of those food pairs but never bread and wine. Having bread as my pulutan never crossed my mind. Perhaps there’s a reason why bread isn’t a staple during drinking sessions (unlike natural testosterone).

So why is it always depicted as a pair? The picture of the bread I saw in front of the local church looked so tasty that I’ve got the urge to try it.

One of these days, I swear I will.

Until yesterday, the best online copy of the blockbuster hit that is Avatar was only a Telesync. Yes I have that copy, but no I did not watch it as the low quality annoyed me. However, I gave it to my friends who badly wanted to watch anyway.

But now the DVD Screener has been leaked, and given that only the Academy Awards voters have been given a copy, it probably came from them. Well, thank you, Oscars! I can finally finish watching Avatar.

It’s a long story, what I went through to watch Avatar. Basically, the movie was cut off before it ended. Because the lazy staff of Mindpro Mall wanted to go home early and their stupid managers had gone home. A fun night out turned ugly and we even had a shouting match with the supervisor the following day.

We got our money back after about 30 minutes of yelling and threatening the incompetent staff at Mindpro. They didn’t want to return the money. Their logic was that well, we should have listened when they asked us to enter the moviehouse before the previous screening ended so that we could have caught the end of the movie! What?! They expected us to watch the movie backwards??? And never explained when we bought the tickets that the movie was going to be cut off?!? Fuck off!!!

*Calming myself*

Ah, sorry for the outburst. It was just a very bad experience for me. In any case, I am never watching a movie there again. Boycott Mindpro, you hear?!

Wanted to watch the movie in Manila again, but ah, nobody wanted to come with me see it in 3D. And most everyone had already watched it. So I’m thankful for the torrent, at least.
