Sookie Stackhouse 10: Dead in the Family

Posted on 06 December 2009 by Flisha

The / book number 10 is entitled Dead in the Family. It will be out on May 4, 2010. The cover and the first chapter should have been released by now, as in the past years, but it seems that it has been delayed this time around.

Sookie Stackhouse / Southern Vampire Mysteries

However, Dallas reports that the cover is ready! confirms that the Dead in the Family cover is expected to be blue (like Sookie’s eyes!) and sparkly (eh? I hope that does not refer to the vamps!).

As to the first chapter of Sookie #10, we hope it gets released soon. I know the hardcore Sookie fans are itching to see what happens to Bill, and to read when Eric and Sookie finally realize they’re meant for each other forever and ever!!!

Here’s a summary of the tenth book:

Sookie Stackhouse has finally settled into a relationship with the Viking vampire Eric, and her errant brother Jason seems to have his life in order, too. But all the other people in Sookie’s life – Eric himself, her former lover Bill, her friend and boss Sam – are having family problems. Eric’s maker shows up with Eric’s ‘brother’ in tow, the ailing Bill can only be healed by a blood sibling, and Sam’s brother’s marriage is about to take place …or will it? The furor raised by the coming out of the two-natured has yet to settle; some people are just not ready to sit down to dinner with a man who turns into a dog. And Sookie herself is still recovering from her last ordeal. She’s definitely improving, physically and mentally, but she’s always going to have some dark moments now. The werewolves tell her that there have been strange and ominous passers-by in the Stackhouse woods; now Sookie is about to come face-to-face with one of her more distant relatives…

Oh, and you can already pre-order it in Amazon! Dead in the Family: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood)

Can’t wait, can’t wait! :)

And what does the crazy beast woman want with Sam Merlotte? I wanna know! Have I mentioned how I LOVE that True Blood makes new storylines out of the Sookie novels? Super! I love being suprised!

Hey! Did you see Bill hit Eric near the end? Oooh a vampire fight! We know who’s gonna win that one. (Because, really, Bill has absolutely NOTHING on Eric!) But I still wanna see it!!!

I love love love True Blood!!!!

Alexander Skarsgard Stars in Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi

Posted on 29 May 2009 by Flisha

Oh my god, she is so dead to Sookie! And I’m so jealous my face is breaking out from the stress.

Lady Gaga just released (or was it leaked?) her new video for the song “Paparazzi” and it stars no other than the hottest vamp in Louisiana, ! Er, I mean, the Swedish actor currently starring as Vampire Eric in , Alexander Skarsgard!

And they make out for, like, 3 freakin’ minutes in the video! Gah! I need to find the best acne treatment, stat!

By the way, is this the longest music video ever made or what? And does Lady Gaga really speak Swedish or does she just think making out with Alexander in Swedish is sexier?

Whatever, just watch the awesome vid! (Yeah, yeah, I said it.)

Sigh. She sure knows how to pick ‘em, I’ll give her that. I bet she messed up a lot behind the scenes so she could kiss Eric over and over. Puke! What a lucky Gaga.

Update: It seems the video is no longer available. Here’s one from Youtube but I can’t be sure it works for all countries. Sorry!

True Blood Season Two Videos

Posted on 10 May 2009 by Flisha

Hold on to your tv stands, girls, Season 2 premieres on June 14! It’s only a month away, and I am sooo excited!

Season Two of True Blood should be patterned off Book 2 of the novels. But creator Alan Ball has added in a few extra elements not found in the books (Vampire Jessica, more Tara, more Lafayette) so that should keep us longtime Sookie fans guessing on our tiptoes!

And of course, the masses are clamoring for more of Eric (count me in on that!) though he doesn’t appear that much in the Sookie novels until Book 3, so I’m hoping Season 2 will be a merging of Books 2 and 3. After all, we don’t know how long HBO will be airing True Blood for, so I’m all for getting Eric in there as soon as humanly (vampirishly?) possible!

If you’re as excited as I am, take a look at these three promo videos released by HBO! The second is making me sooo want June 14 to be here, now, already!!

So True Bloody! I wonder what storyline Alan Ball’s giving Tara this season!

Sookie likes Jessica? Oooh! Can’t wait to see their scenes together! :)

Are you as excited for the return of True Blood as I am???

True Blood in the Philippines

Posted on 17 March 2009 by Flisha

Yay! will finally make its way to the Philippines via HBO Asia’s Max Channel, on April 9 at 9pm.

This will be True Blood’s first showing in Asia, and if you cannot wait to see the entire series an agonizing week at a time, you can download the series from Mininova. (As I did, right after reading the books.)

If you’re a fan of , I am not sure you will like True Blood. There’s a lot more gore, sex and gritty reality to this vampire fantasy. But if you’re one very disappointed vampire fan (from the overhyped book, and the terrible movie), then give True Blood a shot.

I swear this is one case where I think the screen surpasses the novel. But, read the book first. You’ll be able to appreciate how Alan Ball, the director of True Blood, takes the book and transforms it so elegantly to the screen. The plot and story are perfectly intact, but nothing is spoonfed from the book, the series even examines some characters more closely than the books ever did. The actors fit their parts to a tee and can actually act (Anna Paquin won a Golden Globe for her performance), the shots, the scripts, the scenes are utterly amazing, and if the couldn’t get real enough, True Blood will certainly deliver all the grit, the gore and the glamour you can devour.

Trust me, you don’t want to miss this show.

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric Northman

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric Northman

Posted on 19 January 2009 by Flisha

Well. I am going gaga over Eric Northman of the Sookie Stackhouse () series. Eric is gorgeous. Eric is tall. Eric is dangerous at times, devilishly charming at others. Eric is complex. Eric is a vampire. Eric is a Viking. Eric is all man.

You should read the Sookie series, if only to know Eric. I swear, you will fall hopelessly head over heels in love with the rogue. This guy is the ultimate woman’s ideal guy (ok, fine, with the exception of fangs, but still). And Charmaine Harris is a goddess for having created him!

The first few seconds that Eric appeared on (as the owner of the vampire bar Fangtasia), I thought, Dear God, they did the vamp injustice. He was shrouded in the dark, was wearing a coat that all but covered his body, and appeared very, very briefly. And I was so disappointed, because is the greatest character (aside from Sookie of course) in the Sookie series — the most handsome, most compelling, most magnetic personality.

I didn’t realize, until the last few episodes of True Blood, how brilliantly Eric was cast. The guy they got to play Eric is Alexander Skarsgård, a Swedish actor, the son of famous character actor Stellan Skarsgård. And it seems that great acting runs in the genes, because not only is Alexander hot enough to play Eric (Alexander stands 6″4′ and is built like a Greek god. Oh sorry, like a Viking.), he is also able to portray perfectly the arrogance and charisma of Eric Northman.

Check out these screencaps from True Blood. (God, those arms….!!!!)

He’s gorgeous!!!!! I cannot wait for the next season of True Blood! It’s bad enough that Sookie and Eric’s relationship is still undefined in the Sookie series, after all they’ve been through. (Eric’s saved Sookie’s life so many times, and vice versa. They’ve shared blood three times, which creates a very deep bond between them such that each can feel whatever the other feels. They made love when Eric lost his memories, but ever since Eric regained his memories, they’ve avoided each other. Sookie goes out with other men, but can’t shake off her feelings for Eric. Eric himself is utterly confused about how he feels for Sookie, whether he likes her because of her fairy blood, or their blood bond, or if he truly loves her.) I cannot wait for the 9th installation of the Sookie books, Dead and Gone. I really hope Sookie and Eric end up together!

For now, I guess all I can do is gawk at pictures of the super scorching hot Alexander Skarsgård. Look!!!

I don’t know if I’m in love with Eric, or if I’m in love with Alexander. Probably both!!! And, erm, the pics below lean a little bit NSFW, but not quite, so be forewarned. Alex in the shower!

That’s Alexander in the Swedish movie Hundtricket (the Dog Trick). Hot, isn’t he? :D
