Flisha’s leaving this Monday for a five day retreat up in the hinterlands of Mercedes. It’s part of the orientation seminar her school gives to incoming faculty. Basically, she’ll be spending five whole days contemplating the meaning of life and love. She’ll be cleansing herself of all impurities, rejuvinating and revitalizing her spirits.
I envy her. I wish I, too, could take part in such noble endeavors in such a tranquil place. I, on the other hand, will have nothing to do but eat, sleep, watch movies, and surf the net for an entire week. Oh, what boring things to do! Imagine surfing the net for an entire day! Tsk! Imagine just holing up in your room and watching disc after disc of blockbuster hits. Double tsk! Imagine doing nothing but cooking dish after dish of your (in this case, mine and her) favorite dish. Tsk, tsk, tsk!
Wish I were going to have as much fun as Flisha.
